This new benefit adds value for members who enjoy curated travel experiences and want to extend their adventures.

Cruises

Cruise Onboard Credit

Beginning July 1, 2025, members booking cruises through Interval International will receive up to a $200 Onboard Credit for each cabin booked. This credit can be used for onboard expenses, enhancing the overall cruise experience.

Changes to Membership Policies and Fees

Increased Exchange Fee

The standard fee to confirm a one-week exchange has increased by $10, from $229 in 2024 to $239 in 2025. If you’d like to learn the details of all Interval International fees check out our guide for timeshare owners here: Interval International Fees: A Comprehensive Guide For Timeshare Owners.

Guest Certificate Updates

Effective July 1, 2025, the number of complimentary Guest Certificates included with an Interval Platinum membership will be reduced from five to three per membership year. Additionally, the cost of purchasing a Guest Certificate will increase from $79 to $89. Members with more than three complimentary Guest Certificates remaining as of July 1 will see their total adjusted to three.

Flexchange for Last-Minute Travel

Interval International’s Flexchange program, designed for last-minute travel, will now require bookings to be made within 30 days of the desired check-in date. It was previously for deposits made 59 to 14 days before check-in. This change, expected to take effect in late summer 2025, provides a clear timeline for members planning spontaneous vacations.

Refundable Getaway Rates

As part of enhancements to the Getaways program, refundable rates will be introduced for certain destinations. This change allows for greater flexibility when travel plans unexpectedly change, offering peace of mind for members booking vacations.

Updates to Deposit and Cancellation Policies

Shortened Deposit Window

The minimum time to deposit a week before its start date has been reduced from 60 days to 31 days. This change provides members with more flexibility to make deposits closer to their travel dates.

Updated Flex Deposit Window

The Flex Deposit window has also been adjusted. Previously available for deposits made 59 to 14 days before check-in, it is now applicable for deposits made 30 to 14 days before check-in. This aligns with the shortened deposit window and offers more options for members.

Simplified Cancellation Policy

The cancellation policy for non-points exchanges has been simplified. The old three-tiered system (based on 60+, 59-14, and 13-7 day windows) has been replaced with a simpler two-tiered system. You now have different rebooking options depending on whether you cancel 31 or more days before check-in, or between 30 and 7 days before check-in.

Here are the specific rebooking options based on when you cancel:

If You Cancel 31 Days or More Before Check-In:

  • You are entitled to request a substitute exchange trip for travel that occurs within 12 months of your cancellation date.
  • You have a wide window to make your new booking; you can request your substitute accommodations at any point from the day you cancel up until 24 hours before your new desired check-in date.

If You Cancel Between 30 and 7 Days Before Check-In:

  • You are still entitled to a substitute exchange trip for travel within 12 months of your cancellation date.
  • However, your options are more limited. You may only request substitute accommodations from a list of limited travel destinations provided by Interval International.
  • Your window to book the new trip is also more restricted. You can only make the substitute request between 30 days and 24 hours prior to the new check-in date.

It is important to note that any cancellation made less than seven days before the check-in date of the Host Accommodations results in the forfeiture of your vacation week or points and any fees paid.

Resort Directory and Corporate Updates

Resort Additions and Removals

The 2025 Buyers’ Guide includes several changes to the resort directory:

  • Additions: New properties in Mexico, the Caribbean, and other regions, including the new Island Tower villas at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
  • Removals: Resorts such as A-nah Playa del Carmen (Mexico) and Club Greece at Villea Village (Greece) have been removed.

Local Resort Renamed

Liki Tiki Village in Winter Garden, Florida, has been renamed Aqua Sol, a Hilton Vacation Club. This is part of the on-going rebranding of previous Diamond Resorts-managed properties into the Hilton Vacation Club.

Key Exchange Statistics

The 2025 Buyers’ Guide also highlights operational statistics comparing 2023 and 2024:

  • Total Resorts: A net decrease of 41 properties, from 3,270 to 3,229.
  • Total Members: A decrease of 24,552 members, from 1,562,097 to 1,537,545.
  • Total Exchanges: A reduction of 45,340 confirmed exchanges, from 551,116 to 505,776.
  • Confirmation Rate: A slight increase from 97.6% to 97.7%, indicating stable success rates despite lower volume.

Conclusion

The 2025 updates to Interval International’s membership program reflect the company’s efforts to adapt to changing travel trends and member needs. From more flexible deposit and cancellation policies to enhanced benefits for Platinum members, these changes offer both opportunities and challenges for members.

While some updates, such as increased fees and reduced complimentary Guest Certificates, may require adjustments to your planning, others, like the introduction of bundled travel packages and refundable Getaway rates, provide new ways to customize your vacations.

By staying informed about these updates, you can continue to maximize the value of your Interval International membership and enjoy seamless travel experiences in the year ahead.
