Travel insurance in the timeshare industry is an optional policy owners can purchase to protect the value of their maintenance fees or exchange points. If a trip must be canceled due to covered reasons (such as sudden illness, severe weather, or specific emergencies) the insurance reimburses the financial value of the lost vacation, covers travel interruptions, or restores the expended points to the owner’s account.
