For points-based timeshare systems or vacation clubs, the award month (often called the use-year start date or anniversary date) marks the beginning of the owner’s new annual cycle. On this specific date, the owner receives their new allotment of vacation points, and the clock resets on deadlines for banking, borrowing, or expiring points from the previous year.
