Lock-Off

« Back to Glossary Index

A “lock-off” refers to a unit that can be divided into two separate sections. This feature typically applies to larger units, such as those with two or more bedrooms. The physical layout of these units allows for complete separation into independent units, each with its own facilities like kitchens and bedrooms.

Essentially, it’s like having adjoining hotel rooms. The advantage of a lock-off is that it provides flexibility in use and exchange options. You can choose to use one part as a vacation home and rent out the other, or even exchange each part separately. This way, a lock-off unit provides more options for timeshare owners, enhancing their vacation experiences.
