Home Resort

« Back to Glossary Index

A timeshare ownership’s home resort is the resort location that is listed on your deed. Maintenance fees, property taxes, and booking windows (how far in advance you can book your vacation) are determined by your home resort.

Maintenance Fees & Property Taxes

A timeshare owner’s maintenance fees, as well as property taxes, are usually determined by their home resort’s location. For example, owners with a home resort in Nevada or Florida will generally pay lower maintenance fees and property taxes when compared to a Hawaiian or New York home resort.

Booking Windows

Depending on your specific developer’s rules, owners are often able to reserve their home resort farther in advance than when booking other, non-home resorts. This gives owners at a specific resort a priority window before owners at other resorts can start booking their reservations at your home resort.
